The Westerly Griffon was built to replace the hugely successful Centaur and offers an excellent combination of capable cruising performance (much improved from the Centaur), great handling, and superb accommodation for their size. Accommodation

The accommodation is fitted out with teak joinery throughout and offers up to 6 berths in 2 cabins with approximately 6ft headroom.


FORECABIN - Fitted with a V berth with infill and beneath berth stowage, shelves, and opening hatch to foredeck.


HEADS - Separate heads compartment to port with marine toilet and pullout washbasin, with hanging locker opposite. I


SALOON - Traditionally laid out with two settee berths (port can convert to a double) either side of a central table with built in storage, and good storage in a range of lockers.


GALLEY - Aft to starboard and equipped with a gimballed Flavel Vanessa gas cooker with two burners, grill, and oven, stainless steel sink with manually pumped cold water supply, coolbox, and storage.


QUARTER BERTH - Aft to port with large storage cupboard and electrical distribution panel.

Construction

Westerly Griffon built by Westerly Yachts in 1984 to an Ed Dubois design. White GRP hull, superstructure, and decks with grey painted non-slip surfaces. Teak toe rail and rubbing strake. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to transom hung rudder. Self-draining aft cockpit.

Engine(s)

Located under companionway, Volvo Penta 2002 18 hp 2-cylinder diesel engine. Seawater cooled. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to fixed pitch 2-bladed propeller.


The engine was serviced in 2021 and has been lightly used but regularly checked and turned over since.

Electrics

3 x 12v Batteries (all new 2020) charged via engine alternator. Electrical distribution panel. Voltmeter. Battery isolator switch.
