Hurley 18 long keel sailing yacht still in it's original GRP gelcoat.
Interesting little Winter project for restoration.

The H18 shares the same long keel design of it's bigger sisters the H20 and H22. This together with a good ballast/weight ratio, explains why it has a repution as a stiff and comfortable boat at sea, with excellent ability to work to windward.
Look at the side profile picture and see how much of the boat is under the water compared to how much is above the water.

Don't expect to have palatial accommodation on an 18ft pocket cruiser but the interior lends itself to a very practical dayboat/weekender that can sleep three at a pinch and is comfortable for two on an extended cruise.

The Hurley has spend most of it's life cruising around the various lakes of Cumbria with the odd jaunt around the Clyde and West of Scotland. In fact Hurley 18s have managed to find their way all around the world.

Outboard well partitioned off from the cockpit and with morse controls led into the cockpit.

When out of commission it sits on it's own four wheel trailer made out of 'H' beam so no rot in any box section.

It can best be described as a 'proper little ship' and is ideal for someone wanting to try sailing for the first time or moving up from a dinghy and wanting to get afloat on a budget. Either way this boat comes from a very strong stable and will look after it's crew whether you intend to potter around an estuary or take her to sea.
