Introducing Gypsy Rose, a charming 40ft cruiser stern narrowboat built by Hancock and Lane. This well-maintained vessel presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to step into life on the water. Measuring 40ft by 6ft 10in, Gypsy Rose combines classic narrowboat character with practical, comfortable living space.
Benefiting from a survey completed in 2025, along with blacking and a full engine service carried out the same year, Gypsy Rose offers reassurance to prospective buyers. Powered by a reliable Beta 35hp four-cylinder diesel engine with PRM gearbox and keel cooling system, she has an approximate 30-gallon fuel tank capacity. With one starter battery, three leisure batteries, and solar panels onboard, the boat is well equipped for cruising.
Constructed with a steel hull and flat bottom, Gypsy Rose features laminate flooring throughout, tongue and groove cabin sides, and top-opening windows that provide light and ventilation. The vessel’s layout offers a cosy and functional living environment. Heating is provided by electric radiators and a solid fuel stove, while hot water is supplied via a calorifier system. The stainless steel water tank holds approximately 80 gallons, supporting comfortable onboard living.
Inside, the galley is fitted with laminate worktops and includes a cooker, with space provision for the addition of a fridge. The accommodation offers two berths, with a sofa bed providing flexible sleeping arrangements. The bathroom is equipped with a pump-out toilet, shower, and vanity basin, delivering practical facilities for extended cruising. The Boat Safety Certificate is valid until June 2026..
Gypsy Rose represents a delightful blend of traditional build quality and thoughtful updates. Viewings are by appointment only, so you can really appreciate her character and potential.

A boat is not valued on its age. The age of a boat is irrelevant. A boat is valued based on who built the hull? Who fitted the boat out and what type of materials were used (Hard wood or MDF etc) What equipment does the boat have (Bow thruster, generator, inverters etc) These are just a few of the many factors that equate to the correct value of a boat.

BUYERS & SELLERS
When you buy a boat from us you pay all monies in to our company clients trust account which means that the buyers and sellers money is protected. This is the same account that solicitors set up for house sales .This money does not belong to the company it belongs to the buyer until the sale is complete and then we pay the seller from the company clients trust account. We cannot release the money from the Clients Trust Account to the seller until the vessel has been accepted and handed over to the buyer because if there was a fault with the vessel and the buyer refused to accept it and wanted their money back we could not do this because the seller would of already had the money. This could become a very costly and messy problem for all parties.
This money never enters our company current account. This also means that we cannot use customers money for other purchases/reasons. If at any point the company went bust then the buyers/sellers money is safe and it would go back to the rightful owner of the money.
We have had this company clients trust account set up from day one to protect our customers money. This account is a secure holding account. We pay the seller monies due from this account when the buyer has signed to accept the vessel. Payment is made from this account to the seller by cheque from the clients Trust Account which is protected guaranteed funds.
